Pilgrim Passport

The Pilgrim Passport is a unique item for those who pilgrimages. In the past, it was a necessary document to gain permission to walk. It is issued by the Bishop of the Diocese of Linköping. Pilgrims, both then and now, collect unique stamps in their passports to show where they have traveled. Today, it also entitles you to special offers along the trail, such as discounts or exclusive experiences for pilgrims.

The Pilgrim Passport can easily become a cherished companion and keepsake. Once you reach your destination in Vadstena and can show that you have walked at least 100 kilometers on the pilgrimage route (not necessarily in one stretch), you will receive your Pilgrim Certificate. Many major pilgrimage routes and destinations across Europe have similar pilgrim passports. As a pilgrim, you are welcome to be part of something greater.
