St. Birgitta Ways are for everyone who wants to pilgrimage to and from Vadstena, regardless of background and motive. The routes vary from steep wilderness trails in deep forests to winding gravel roads through diverse plain landscapes. Almost every day's stage passes different forms of water that invite you to take a swim or a break. Often, several times a day, you can rest in a church, experience the peace and the breath of history, and perhaps feel that you are part of something greater.
The trail is named after one of Sweden's most famous persons, Saint Birgitta. Her message of peace and simplicity is highly relevant today and can inspire the necessary transformation of society that we are facing.
